Today, a friend of mine from work lost his partner. She only went to hospital on Monday evening, and passed away yesterday.
I’m feeling a bit sad for my friend as they had been together for over 20 years, never had any children, and all they had was each other. And now she’s gone and he’s all alone. He has family, but she was his world.
It’s made me think about my friends & family and all the people I have around me, and really appreciate them.
Now I know that it sounds like the usual things that people come out with, but this came out of the blue - she wasn’t even ill. What if this happened to someone I know? Or even to me?
I’d be absolutely heartbroken - I can’t even begin to imagine how he’s feeling.
I’m getting married this year, and I’m so lucky that I even get to do this and I’ll be surrounded by my friends & family. All that’s happened over the past few days, an generally over the past 6 months has made me appreciate the fact that I do have some of the most amazing people around me, and have cut out the negativity - all i need in my life is my husband to be, family, my craaaaazy friends and sky+ :) its made me appreciate that I get to marry my Markie and has given me another reason as to why I want to be Mrs Evans - Hooper.
Too much sadness is our area recently, it’s about time it changed :(
next week!
Someone in my family had a baby today. While I’m please for them and really happy baby is healthy - it has made me realise how I’m definitely not ready for kids. I know everyone’s going to be like have a hold, have a go at feeding, have a go at nappies etc.
NO NO! Don’t mind the holding but everything else - not for me.
Might sound a bit harsh but I dont like other peoples children forced upon me. I’ll happily play with my other nephews and niece but this is not forced upon me. So in short, I ain’t changing no nappies until I push my own out.
They don’t make movies like they used to make them.
I mean, as much as I love the new technologies that have helped bring out some of the greatest films to date - who’s to say in 20 years time, you’ll sit down to watch avatar on a lazy Sunday day? Or inception when your hanging out with your friends? Can you even quote any lines from these films?
At Christmas, sky can premier all these films that’s have only Come out in the past year or so but the films I get excited about?
Santa Claus the movie (the one with Dudley Moore)
Scrooged
Free willy
Home alone 1 & 2
The goonies
Bugsy Malone
The wizard of oz
Muppets christmas carol
Gremlins
And probably a million other films I can’t think of right now.
Take me back to the days where I couldn’t feed my Mogwai after midnight, Macaulay was left home alone twice, the fratellis creeped you out, the lost boys were real
Vampires (not these sparkly ones) and Tron had the best computer graphics of the time.
